Paxton & Whitfield
Paxton & Whitfield prides itself on being a leader in bringing the best in British and European artisan cheeses to its customers and has been supporting the artisan cheese industry in Great Britain since it started trading in 1797. It is honoured to be sponsoring the Cheese of the Year Award at this year’s Cotswold Life Food & Drink Awards.
Paxtons remains an independent, family owned business whose focus continues to be on working closely with its suppliers to ensure it is delighting customers with the quality and range of the cheese it sells.
It is undoubtedly the UK’s oldest cheesemonger and has an award-winning reputation for the cheese that it sells. In 1850 the Company was given the honour of being appointed cheesemonger to Her Majesty Queen Victoria. Since that first appointment it has held a Royal Warrant for each of Great Britain’s reigning monarchs. It currently holds Royal Warrants for Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales.
Today Paxton & Whitfield has four shops in the UK: Bath; Stratford upon Avon; Jermyn Street, London; and Cale Street, Chelsea. It also runs a successful wholesale operation from its Bourton headquarters and its products are available online.
